Unable to follow URL links unless Chrome is already running

Expected behavior

Tap URL > page opens in browser.

Actual behavior

(a) Chrome not running Tap URL > dialog: Unfortunately, Chrome has stopped. (b) Chrome running, minimized Tap URL > page opens in browser as expected.

Steps to reproduce

Tap any URL. Behavior occurs regardless of 'In-app browser' setting, i.e. applies to custom tab and full browser.

Android version: 4.2.2

Are you running Beta/Canary version of Chrome, or custom build of Chromium?
