cache grows immensely - causes UI to become sluggish #985

Expected behavior

Irrespective of cache utilization the UI should react to finger movements quickly

Actual behavior

Every few days it starts to become sluggish. For instance it takes several seconds for the display to follow my finger (up/down). Investigating this I noticed that the cache had grown to several 100 MB. Clearing the cache and restarting the app makes the UI snappy again.

Steps to reproduce

I noticed only now that I could clear the cache from within Twidere too - will try it next time.

Extra info

I am not sure but this seems to have started with a recent update - sorry, I don't know which one

In the meantime i moved to another phone, Android 7.1.1 with much more memory and cpu power. Alas, the issue remains. I set the "max cache" value to the lowest possible (100MB) but again that limit seems to be ignored.
