At the moment is not possible to differentiate from friendly PC and friendly NPC and there's only one setting for Friendly Units. Have you already set that configuration option in the configuration matrix?
I have, yeah. It looks like rather than checking if I am in combat, it's checking whether the unit with the nameplate is in combat.
Stuff that I mark hidden in-combat, should probably hide when I am in combat.
You're pointing out a controversial matter that has been in the game since the very beginning. Razorplate addon had a specific configuration option which let you choose which pattern should be used in order to make the unit flagged as "in-combat". The options were (if I remember them correctly):
I could introduce such a setting configuration as well but I'm holding the change since I don't want to turn nPrimeNameplate into Optiplates 2.0. Options are fine but they come at a cost (nPrimeNameplate is currently much lighter than Optiplates), hard to maintain and sometimes they don't really help that much.
What's your insight about the matter? Would you think setting all the other units in combat when the player is in combat help? Or should this setting applied only to specific units (i.e. friendly/neutral PC/NPC)?
The main reason I use "show in / out of combat" settings, is to reduce screen clutter when I am in combat, to make fighting/killing easier.
So, it makes a lot more sense to me to hide all of the stuff I've marked hidden in-combat, when I'm in combat.
I don't understand the use of checking other units' combat status.
On the other side, in PvP (or open world events and War of the Wilds) you'll have plenty of units in combat which will show a lot of information until you don't enter combat. But PvP is the main issue, I think.
I guess I'll just continue maintaining my own local fork.
Perhaps I don't understand how this is supposed to work...
But I would like to display friendly player names, titles, and guild tags, when out of combat.
When I enter combat, I would like the titles and guild tags to be hidden.
It doesn't seem to work. Is this a known issue?
