Instead of 

!hat(:delta)

It would be nice to write

:delta@hat

Both would produce

\hat{\delta}

Maybe this could just be an alternate macro syntax that does some parameter shuffling?

That way both of these would be valid at the same time.

!hat(:delta)
:delta@hat
