Started to work on this here:
http://code.google.com/r/gbtami-fics-filters/source/checkout
First I added filters to games tab. It's a buttonbox containing All, Stanadrd,
Blitz, Lightning, Variants check buttons.
But there are other filters I can imagine for seeeks and players tabs, like
Rated, Unrated, Computers, Guest, Registered, etc.
Seems there is little room for these, so I suggest to remove #of
seeks/players/games from the left. What do you think?

I think that the original poster of the idea in the mailing list was talking
about using it to filter seeks in the seeks tabs, not the game list. The idea
being that seeks come and go very quickly, often much quicker than games in the
Games tab list, and therefore, being able to filter them in the seek tab so
that when one matching your desired game filter type appears, you can see it
and try to accept it alot easier.

I like to be able to filter players too, as sometimes more than 2k players are
logged in, and I don't want to see guest or just want to see computers, etc.
Same for games. My choice of filtering games first was just random, I wanted to
try how filtered treeview can work at all. Btw. Thomas suggested to use
popup-toolbox (as we use it when selecting different time settings on new game
dialog) instead of button box I used.

Yeah, that all makes sense. I wasn't disagreeing that we should have filtering
for Game or Players. I was just saying that I think it would be most useful for
Seeks. The button box idea sounds good too.
