The notes below refer to the PDF uploaded.

All of the comments are about design and typographic.

A meeting on the simpler issues of editorial should be scheduled this week if possible.

Any questions of comments here or mail.

thanks.

On the pdf;

  1. Shows a problem with type selection on the TN site. Momentum Sans is not deployed according to the design. how is it deployed then? (CL, CL)

(And Sketch needs some help with fonts, and/or our fonts need some help with sketch.) (SO)

  1. Left: Shows two images on the left to add later to the intro section for vars.(LATER) Right: Type selection shouldn’t be a problem for captions. Why is this a problem here? (CL, CL)

  2. I don’t understand what’s going on on this page. Is it just a rough no one’s informed us of the state of?

There’s a typo in my comments. Should read: “Do Examples have Headlines, or say “Example”? Let’s not mix them. Either all little headlines for each example, or all “Examples” and numbers for Examples in topics with multiple examples.

Forget the illustration for now, (delete it).(CL, CL) I’ll get back to it. I do not authorize and further time or work or this page. ‘ Do not charge me further.

  1. Fluid size is the page where the illustration in the previous page belongs. So this is a new illustration.

  2. Size Example should look like this. user should have experiemntal control over the “custom, While the other specimens above it are visible oin the programming window for comparison

  3. The comments explain themselves.

  4. Forget the families primmer illustration for now, (remove it). (CL, CL) I’ll get back to it.

  5. Remove all the illustrations from the overview. (CL, CL)

  6. Copy the graphic in the bottom 1/2 of the page without any changes. Things to template and not change for this brochure: The title of the graphic is ABOVE IT. The Type Changes by just One treatment: BOLD The Data in graphics Does not Repeat. It can be read easily by the developers, and users alike.

  7. Ignore.

11.12. Sketches of responsive version of graphic on fifth page. (CLewis)

  1. Sketches of future Animation topic examples on left.

Future design of possible Timeline component on right. (RB) This allow the user to L-R scroll along a time line with a caption appearing for each data point. It's more small and portable I think than what we've got. Maybe useful later.

14. Notes for future Styles topic examples of sorting and filtering by parametric vs OS/2 values. (PD, CL)

This has got to get done with 0 help from me anymore, having filtering and sorting on a valid database of fonts all having valid OS/2 and PWTH & PWHT axes (per mille values).

  1. Sketches of future graphic of Spacing topic’s details on left. Sketches of future movie of Spacing topic on right.

Ignore for now.

  1. The comments explain themselves.

I've made a bunch of new issues to cover each individual point.

Chris,

I didn't ask you to and you've separated the text of the original issues filed, from the images.

I wanted to Discuss this pdf and determine what the real issues are before turning them into the somewhat discombobulated list of issues you've created. I said so at the beginning of the text.

If we'd met, I'da told you: "Please... specify the fonts of the editorial right and keep it that way." That is not part of the project I'm trying to do, I should not have to tell you what styles to use for anything from heads to caption, and I should not have to be dealing with it.

Thanks.

@dberlow has all of this been dealt with to your satisfaction now?

dberlow commented 5 years ago

Pretty much, why?
