Pinch-to-zoom should zoom around the pinching center, not the screen center

What steps will reproduce the problem?
0. (optional) Get a tablet, if possible. It is more noticeable on larger 
screens.
1. Open any file in EBookDroid 1.6.6.
2. (optional) Show pages side-by-side, and leave the tablet in landscape 
orientation. This way, you can see 2 or 3 pages at once on the screen.
3. Use two-finger-pinch gesture to zoom in and out.

What is the expected output?
The zoom should happen around my fingers, centered on the pinch center. In 
other words, the touched page regions should keep touching my finger.

What do you see instead?
The zoom happens around the center of the screen.

For comparison, open Google Maps and try the same gesture there.

What version of the product are you using?
1.6.6

On what operating system?
Android JellyBean

What device are you using?
Galaxy Nexus and also a CyanogenMod 7" tablet.
