the app is missing an option to scan the book cover automatically because when 
your have a very large collection of books it is a pain to click each of them 
to scan the book cover

It is too hard to implement. The EBookDroid is not a library program.

is there a way to use a third party tool? 

for example use a photo editor to create thumbnails with the same name as the 
album, and save them in the cache folder?
