Control registration #156

I added a registration deadline check so the deadlines are not overridden after this deadline. Could you take a look?

I also removed a couple of unused libraries.

Two changes requested above, and one question (probably will cause more changes).

Then it should be ready to merge!

Make sure you link the relevant issue so that when the PR merges it gets closed too.
