Dear Group 108,

Well done! This is definitely an impressive dashboard that is capable of providing crime statistics and awareness and addressing the research questions in your proposal. It is also a helpful tool for us to find a relatively safe neighborhood to live in. Below are some specific feedbacks towards your dashboard design:

Purpose-driven design: In your dashboard, there are basically two plots, one is the map, and the other one is the line chart, comparing the crime counts in two neighborhoods. As we all know, violent crimes are usually geographically concentrated in some particular neighborhoods. I really like the idea of including a map in your dashboard. A map with different color gradients is an explicit way for viewers to have a general idea of where is safer. In terms of the line chart, I think that crime rate would be more accurate compared to the crime count to answer the research questions since the population varies from neighborhood to neighborhood. So my suggestion for future improvement is that you might need to include more types of statistics for people with different preferences.

Aesthetics matter: The screenshot of your dashboard in your group repo looks fantastic for me.

Less is more: The Crime Index Max seems to be abundant for some audience. It may confuse some potential audience. It took me a while to figure out what the functionality is.

Narrative and signposts: A short paragraph at the beginning, explaining what the dashboard does would make it even more effective. One more thing I want to bring up is the titles of plots. Probably a more explicit title without the mathematical symbol would be more reader-friendly.

Onboarding experience: The overall onboarding experience is very exciting. Unfortunately, the dashboard, however, did not render properly on my laptop (macOS Safari and Chrome). The Crime Index Max however, is rendered at the bottom of the page on my computer, which was supposed to be next to the map.

Allow users to filter data: You did a great job regarding this principle. We can easily compare the two neighborhoods in the second plot, which is very practical.

This is definitely a great project; this dashboard is impressively practical! It is a good tool to use when finding an apartment after graduation
