Hey Guys! Love the app. I think it is a good focused purpose and delivers on the intended goal. Here are a few suggestions!

Scenario:

• It may not be possible based on the dataset but some profitability metrics might help to identify promising companies as well. some of these game types and regions will have better margins!
• Similarly, perhaps percentage of game levels that are AAA might be a way to further subdivide the game sales
• Lastly, a chart that showed games by developer year over year might indicate developers growing. I know the dataset you are working with wouldnt offer the first two, but just something that might help the hopeful game investor!

Persona: Again some of these are pie in the sky!

• Perhaps some info on developers that are publicly traded? whether it is a tooltip or a link or a separate static table.
• Some information in the tooltips of the graphs might allow you to convey a but of specific information about the features.

Frontend:

• the mean sales graphs have a second graph but i dont know that it is necessary, and it makes the HTML div spawn a scroll bar which makes it hard to read.
• I think the titles could be bigger as well.
• having both bar graphs on the same axis alignment would be easier to read.
• I think it is possible to have all 4 graphs adjust based on the dropdowns, which is more intuitive. Alternatively a different layout that gives some inuition to which controls are for which graph might help
• I didnt understand what the sliders did at first, so a label might help there.

Backend: I didnt find any broken functionality or unresponsive selections.

Documentation: I was able to run the app locally by following the instructions, and the heroku link is self explanatory. I think i covered my useability issues above, which were not major but could help improve the overall 'slickness.'

Good work guys! I know this technology is a challenge and the app looks great.

I am adding a few comments to @gfairbro review. Your group made a great app, I can see how you could keep building on it, too, if we had more time in this course.

1. Number of employees at different companies throughout the years. If I were a video game developer, I would be curious who is growing the fastest (that will probably have to be some other dataset).

2. It would be interesting to see all categories mapped out to see who has the highest volume of sales in general over time.

1. I think if I were Gordon, I would be curious how sales are changing by the platform over time. That could be another filter.

2. On Kaggle I could see that the dataset contains specific games, so it would be interesting which ones were the most popular ones. It helps to identify the most innovative/interesting studios at the time.

Frontend / layout

Is the text (plot labels / titles / subtitles) easy to read?

• Yes, they were.

Are the plots selected appropiated for the data? Can you think of other alternatives or improvements for the plots regarding interactivity/reactivity or plot selection?

• Time series graphs were a bit hard to read with so many lines. But the slider at the bottom was helpful. It would be cool to be able to select the categories or publishers by yourself.

Was the dashboard organized in a way that was easy to read (columns / rows) or you would suggest a change in this sense?

• Perhaps, the dropdowns could be narrower so on smaller screens the graphs did not need to be scrolled horizontally (but I am just nitpicking here).

Would you prefer including tabs / navbars to improve the navigation or you think it is better to visualize everything in one screen by the nature of the content?

• I liked having everything visible right away.

Are the plots or other images described properly for the persona described?

• Yes, but I would perhaps put filter names at the start. I was not sure if all charts were updating because the word Sports for instance, appears in the middle of the title.

Backend

Are the options that you can select in the widgets working fine or have you found some cases where it is not working?

• No, I did not have any issues.

Documentation

Was the documentation easy to understand from the README.md how to use the app? How could the documentation be improved?

• It was clear to me. Maybe it could be a bit more specific about who collected the data.

Was the app intuitive to use without reading the documentation? What information could be good to include?

• Similarly to Gabe, I was not sure right away about the meaning of the sliders at the bottom. I thought they were for years rather than the number of items.

Indicate something you would like to include in your own app after reviewing this one

• I liked the slider. We have a lot of items and it may be nice to be able to limit the bar plot to top 5 or 10.

Overall, nice and simple. I understood right away how to use it and didn't have to do any double takes. Also, the gradient is a lovely touch!
