General comments: Great work team, I really liked the problem statement that you are trying to solve using this dashboard. Climate change is serious and it is important to learn if and how the world is shifting to other forms of energy to mitigate adverse effects of climate change. And the dashboard looks really good overall. Neat and tidy, with great use of bootstrap to style elements!
Persona
- Provide 3 pieces of constructive feedback that could help the app to be better suited to the scenario it was designed for
- Below are some of the suggestions that you guys could improve upon to make the app better overall:
- The navigation bar in the
Trendstab does not provide space to load other regions as a dropdown which, can be seen in the pic below. It would be better if the design of the nav bar can be tweaked a bit to accomodate space for the dropdown's options
- When I try to visualize the bottom ranked countries, it displays an empty plot. I think this issue might have to do something with the data coming from the backend. I have attached snippet for your reference here
- It would be better if the year slider is at the top of the world map(like it is on the top in the
Trendstab), that way a user won't have to scroll down and then look at the map above, which makes it more intuitive and user friendly.

- John might be interested in some additional plots like a stacked bar chart to view the rise in energy consumption by different fuel or which display the absolute values of energy consumption, apart from the percentage.
- John might also be interested in analyzing the energy consumption of some part of the world like for example he might be interested in viewing the consumption for America only, for which only a part of the world map can be zoomed in and depicted for better interpretability.
- Some countries in the world map like Africa, Greenland appear to be white in the map, which indicates that there was no data for those regions in your dataset. But John might be interested in knowing about those regions too, as he wants to have a look at the energy consumption at the global level. So, one way you can indicate the missingness of the data is by adding a small line at the bottom of the nav bar as disclaimer that you did not have data for the regions visible as white in the map, or these regions dont use these types of energy sources or maybe you could choose some other dataset in future, if you really want to show the energy consumption at a global level. This would really help in understanding the energy consumption globally and provide clarity as to why some regions in the plot are white
Frontend / layout
- Is the text (plot labels / titles / subtitles) easy to read?
- Yes, all the plot labels, titles and subtitles are easy to read
- Are the plots selected appropriate for the data? Can you think of other alternatives or improvements for the plots regarding interactivity/reactivity or plot selection?
- All the plots are appropriate for the data chosen. The plots are interactive also and change according to the filters selected
- Was the dashboard organized in a way that was easy to read (columns / rows) or you would suggest a change in this sense?
- The dashboard is pretty well organised and designed, which made it easy to interpret
- Would you prefer including tabs / navbars to improve the navigation or you think it is better to visualize everything in one screen by the nature of the content?
- The team has already added tabs, which makes it easier to understand and does not appear clumsy
- Are the plots or other images described properly for the persona described?
- All the plots and images are described perfectly for the persona defined.
Backend
- Are the options that you can select in the widgets working fine or have you found some cases where it is not working?
- All the options from the backend are working fine, apart from the radio button where you have to select the bottom ranked countries for energy consumption, the plot renders to be empty in that scenario
- If there are interactive plots: are the labels clear and easy to understand?
- Yes, all the labels are clear and easy to understand
Documentation
- Was the documentation easy to understand from the

- Yes, the app is pretty intuitive to use without the documentation

I would like to improve the layout of my app, as I got inspired from this app. Using year slider component outside of the nav bar and using tabs can change the look and feel of our app
