Hi Team, I think you made an interesting app to visualize the olympic games. Apart from the awesome features you have in your app, here is some feedback that will hopefully improve the app.

Persona

Scenario:

• It would be nice to have a short summary of interesting statistics such as the record running time of athletes or the shortest time completed a certain game of interest, in the olympic games of the selected year
• It would also be great if the user could compare the olympic performance of two countries side by side easily by selecting them from a dropdown
• The bar chart by gender is nice, but maybe percentage comparison would be better instead of hard numbers

Persona

• The chart that shows the distribution of medals by age is quite interesting. Instead of a histogram, I would go with a density plot which shows the distribution of the data better than a histogram that depends on the bins used
• In the same chart above, I would also include the category of medals, so that we can compare distributions of medals by age (e.g. distribution of age by gold medals can be compared to distribution of age by bronze models
• Perhaps able table that shows top N countries by medal count of selected year would be nice

Frontend / layout

The plots look really nice, and I can use the drop downs easily. The legends and click interactions are also awesome

• Instead of having a separate tab for the about section, I would put it on the same main page since it's quite short
• The charts are not aligned nicely, aligning them makes it easier to compare and look at things without scrolling down
• The bottom two lots, bar plot and histogram, have different y-axis ranges. Perhaps using the same range would make it easier for the user so that they don't have have to adjust when switching between looking at the two charts

Backend The backend is working very well. All the drop dows and other interactions are working without any bugs.

Documentation

• The documention was actually quite easy to read and understand.

• I looked at the app without reading the documentation first, and it was very intuitive. Great job team!

• One improvement I would suggest is highlighting for the end user that this is just a graphical exploration of the data, and no inferences should be drawn from these plots.

• I would also split up the large Motivation paragraph into 2 paragraphs that each have a main purpose

• The app itself is quite intuitive and easy to use other than the improvements I suggested above
