Your dashboard looks amazing. Congrats!

• motivation. The motivation of this dashboard is clearly stated in the 1st paragraph. And it is an interesting topic.
• usage scenario. It is also pretty clear to me that what I can find as an audience. There are regions I can choose, and I can inspect different parameters like 'happiness', 'healthy life expectancy', and so on.

In general this is a great dashboard to me, interesting and clear.

A minor suggestion is that the positions of plots can be a little bit confusing. The left top graph (world happiness ranking) is not interchangeable by selecting 'regions' and 'preference' from the drop down manual. Thus, this graph looks more like a overall review and perhaps can be relocated to the very top of the dashboard.

Here is the update on our layout changes: we had a great discussion with Joel and Afshin, and we decided to put the drop down menu at the top of our dash app. World map below region dropdown, and country with the selected region with respect to preference under preference dropdown. Then the user would be able to see an overview of happiness rank in the region, they could click on our interactive chart and there is an Altair table to the left showing the countries they selected with some cool country information. Additionally, we added more functionality such as country filter on world-map, radio button to control ascending/descending of the preference rank order. We believe this would be a good flow when the user use our app :)
