I was thinking about this feature and following are my ideas:

  1. Quest appointment must be available. For one-time visitors.
  2. Self-appointment must be available only for the registered patients.
  3. Receptionist must be able to schedule the existing or guest patient to any doctor.

Design an interface allowing receptionists to initiate appointment booking during or after patient registration.

Clear Appointment Selection:

Enable easy selection of available time slots or dates for appointments within the registration interface.

Real-time Availability Display:

Display real-time availability of appointments to aid in immediate booking decisions.

Confirmation and Alert:

Provide confirmation alerts upon successful booking and alerts for conflicting appointments, if any.

Appointment Management:

Flexibility in Scheduling:

Allow rescheduling or modification of appointments post-registration for increased flexibility.

Appointment Overview:

Enable receptionists to view and manage existing appointments within the patient's record for better coordination.

Reminder and Notification:

Implement reminders or notifications for both patients and staff regarding upcoming appointments.
