I ran the validity tool on the avas_allboundaries.geojson file. It passed with the geos definition, but the QGIS definition found 10 files that had duplicated vertexes:
[x] Central Coast
[x] Malibu Coast
[x] Cucamonga Valley
[x] Edna Valley
[x] Long Valley-Lake County
[x] Sonoma Mountain
Some of these are older so I'm not sure why they're an issue now, but please investigate and see if you can remove the extra vertexes. This sometimes matters for various spatial analysis processes.
