Hackathon/Data Challenges: Single page events treat all associated images as child pages

Is it possible to apply the featured image from the parent challenge/hackathon page to all child pages by default? It's not an essential feature, but it is a little tedious to manually apply it on the multi-page challenges and easy to overlook. Unlike library exhibits I don't think there is a need for the child pages to have different images from the parent for these events.

Correction: the content type currently makes -all- images associated with single page events into child pages, including body images.
