360 items may persist alone or paired with still images in the DAMS interface. When paired with still images, 360 should be first thing shown in the item navigation thumbnails and marked by an icon. The 360 view of the item should begin with spin enabled by default to signal to the user that the image moves/is interactive.
For product/object imagery, there should be three buttons: a spin/pause button and a forward/backward button. The user may also click and drag to move the item.
When 360 spin in enabled, the pause button shows. When pause in enabled, the 360 spin button shows.
(I'm not sure what our 360 space/room view solution is, plugin or internally built, but if internally built the interface may also function in the same way -- its really the same experience from a user interaction perspective -- one is a spherically wrapped image and the other is a set of images, but the controls and method of interacting don't really change. Clicking the spin button for a room should reset the view for the viewer as well.)
For any type of 360 image -- space or object -- a 360 interface should be marked in the item list by the 360 icon.
The icon's black and white combo make it easily visible no matter the background color -- same for the control buttons on the 360 image. Example on black with the image paused in order to show the 360 icon in the controls:
Other examples of list item demarcated instances can be seen in Issue UCDavisLibrary/fin-server#138; more information on icons in UCDavisLibrary/fin-ucd-lib-server#3.
