XR Interaction Toolkit Example Scene and New Input System Support #12

It would be useful to have an XRIT template in the Unity project to help newcomers who are using that system, with an example of syncing an object with gravity included.

Hi @lucidbard, thanks for your question. Yes, just a case of best available at the time. We were putting it together for our intake of students late last year and at that stage the Input System and new XR Interaction Toolkit seemed too rough to rely on, so we went with the legacy options and basic Ubiq interactions on top.

The plan now is to move to primarily supporting the OpenXR plugin. It's high priority as the OpenVR plugin never seemed to be fully supported. The switch will involve converting to the new Input system, so it's a yes on that front.

There's definitely also a good argument for integrating the Unity XR Interaction Toolkit in its current form and potentially using it to replace the Ubiq interactions. But we have no firm plans on that as yet.
