It's a good question.
I have only done this for the D690 scanner, the geometry to forward project in STIR and GATE is https://github.com/UCL/STIR-GATE-Connection/blob/master/ExamplePhantoms/STIRparFiles/D690FOVCylinder.par. The Ellipsoidal Cylinder is the size of the scanner FOV. For the mMR, you would create a copy of this file with the source the size of the scanner FOV and simulate that.
Please be aware, the mMR example geometry may be out of date.
