I re-opened this, not clear if it refers to volume rendering, or surface rendering. Either way, JS says its too slow.

So I think my previous solution should be fine.

It is just necessary to check that GPU rendering is enabled in Slicer, as per the instructions here. It seems that it was disabled on the laptop, but I have turned it back on now.

Slicer option to enable GPU and check that's actually using the GPU (@ThomasDowrick ) Think about checking that option in the slicelet.
