Calibration to data on usage of laboratory resources #527

We understand that data exist on the volume of work that is done by laboratories in Malawi (CHAI have collated it and used in their work). If we were to have it, we could use it as an additional calibration target. We should look into this!

In order to make most use of these data, we would need to examine the HSI events and determine where and how laboratory services are used. We could use for this the formality of the DxTest, and let this automatically register the use of the relevant "appointment-types" in the footprint of the HSI.

Information from @sakshimohan:

In relation to the earlier point about trying to access Central Hospital service data (particularly lab data), it might be helpful to reach out to Pakwanja Twea (former Economist at Planning, MOH). The first part of her PhD (at Bergen University) is focused on costing tertiary services in Malawi and she is working on collating data from Central hospitals (including lab and other diagnostic services) from Central Hospitals.

Thanks very much for raising the issue here, Tim.

Just add some clues about the data here: (1) CHAI collect 2019 LAB data (available to use) at community/district/central hospitals from labs separately, (2) Pakawanja may have central hospital service data, incl. LAB and Radiography.
