Direct loading of base grid & filtering of update grid

• Previously the base grid would be regridded after loading; this doesn't happen anymore (but remains available as an option).
• The base region, spacing, and update regions are all extracted automatically from the source files.
• The update grid (specifically the difference grid) is filtered before being added to the base grid mainly to avoid hard lines at boundaries.
