OSCAR (Open Source Cycle Accurate Routers) #9

I'm fine with NetEmulation but ... I was thinking, for a name, if it is to include Open Source, Oscar seems a good acronym and it fits pretty easy. Anyone else got any ideas?

OSCAR - Open Source Cycle-Accurate Routers.

I like it, although from the name it would be hard to conclude what OSCAR does. I liked that previous NEMO (NetEmulation) suggestion too.

You mean NEMU surely! I reckon that is what that IP section should be called, as it is now, but I'm thinking for the whole thing.

Would Cycle Accurate Routing be clearer? Cycle-Accurate routers is pretty explicit do you not think? The difference between our routers and most others is the fact that they are cycle-accurate, in-fact, aside from being open source, that is our hook! (Cycle-accurate being a comp-sci term). We should probably try and think of as many names as possible whilst we're working and then let Phil choose.

Open Source, Cycle-Accurate Routers is my favourite so far.

How about "LEON" (Library of Electro-Optic Networks)? Let me know what you guys think of that :)
