@NedHenry In QAing this, it looks like the titles have been successfully and correctly updated, but it also looks like the image groups/complex objects set have been ungrouped.
For example, Woman with white kitten: Untitled is an unpublished image within a set I used as in example in our update presentation to SC&A, now it appears in the DAMS as a single image. However, if I click on the linked title, I get seven image results inclusive of the other images in that set as well as three other images sharing a title that contains the same words.
This makes me wonder if when we did the re-ingest, if the subseries property was being leveraged in someway to group the images as complex object sets?
@chesleyperry Do you also want to have a look?
Descriptive Summary
There are a number of issues with the MS 20: RMB-PJ collection resulting from the restructing of the collection and we've decided that the most straightforward course of action is to remove and reingest the entire collection, inclusive of the Dorothea Lange images.
Among the issues notes are:
For example: Title in DAMS (from original ingest): Untitled: Copy series for 1947 C.S.F.A.assignment UCSCLibrary/dams_project_mgmt#1 Title as updated on re-ingest spreadsheet: Copy series for 1947 C.S.F.A.assignment UCSCLibrary/dams_project_mgmt#1: Untitled
Title in DAMS (from original ingest): Untitled: Miscellaneous Title as updated on re-ingest spreadsheet: Miscellaneous: Untitled
The issue with having "Untitled:" appear as the first title element is something we noted when we first shared the collection Calisphere during the mass digitization project. We decided to correct for this and flip the order of title elements in the re-ingest metadata. As a user, I don't want to browse through a huge list of images called "Untitled: ..."
The only way to round up the images from this ingest on the staff/user facing side of the system is to: 1) search by the URI for Dorothea Lange: https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n79100159, and 2) to facet by the RMB-PJ collection. There are 1,058 affected images.
