sampling from corpora? #17

I'd like to be able to run HW 2 on my local machine rather than the RCC. I am looking at a corpus of congressional bills and have limited it to ones that mention climate and/or energy (about 1400 bills). However, my computer takes a very long time to process these. Is it valid to randomly sample, say, half of these for the assignment for the sake of computational feasibility?
