This would be an excellent thing for someone to apply for a travel grant to attend. We'll have a fall round with decisions by 10/3. Registration is a bit steep - $395 w/ edu discount. Perhaps the board would be willing to make a special award to cover the registration of anyone presenting a poster.
Oh, and look at their workshop prices:

Anyone interested in starting a 503(c) at UF? (Kidding, sort of.)
I'm already planning on going, I could do this.
I'm going to submit this application in the next couple of hours, if anyone wants to provide input. @ha0ye @mjcollin

@KristinaRiemer can you enable commenting?
It should work now.
Here's my abstract from CarpentryCon if it helps: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nJEdnsnXuwgSkGbNyBpiMByDR43M0WWp1Jtai7lO1l4/edit?usp=sharing
Thanks @justinmillar! I was using it as a reference, but I think I could fold some more of the languages and concepts from your abstract into this one.
Thanks for Kristina doing this for our community!
It looks good! I just add my little bit for your consideration :)

I can't tell if Google Docs is messing with me. I added 2 comments, does anyone see those (when I reopen the doc I don't see them). Anyway, comments were:
@gklarenberg I don't see your comments either. I'll add number of instructors, good suggestion! I might leave out the active instructors comment, as I'm trying not too focus too much on The Carpentries stuff in case whoever reads this isn't as familiar with that organization.
Last minute had to shorten the abstract quite a bit, but it's submitted!
See the new repo for anything more about this.

@justinmillar Hey man, your abstract related a poster or talk at CarpentryCon?
Might be worthwhile to present on our org. if one of us is already interested / planning to go: https://blog.rstudio.com/2018/08/20/rstudio-conf-2019-contributed-talks-eposters/
