1) Jet Energy Corrections based on Fall17 94x MC and 2017
“17Nov2017” Data: Fall17_17Nov2017_V32. These corrections include
the fix for the FormulaEvaluator issue, discussed in [1] and updated
parametrization of pile up offset jet energy corrections [2]. Also,
thanks to better understanding of the data, the uncertainties are
reduced with respect to the previous release. The MC based Jet Energy
Corrections are provided for AK4/AK8 PF, CHS and PUPPI jets. Both, the
mean values of the corrections and the uncertainties are updated in
respect to the previous release. The residual JEC have been derived for
AK4 PF+CHS jets. For other jet types, these are clones of AK4 PF+CHS.
The correction uncertainties estimate is also based on AK4CHS. The txt
and SQLite files can be retrieved from JECDatabase GitHub repository.
The links are provided on the twiki page:
The data taken during 2017 is not uniform, therefore corrections are
derived for 4 periods of data, corresponding to the run periods B, C,
D+E and F. The SQLite (Fall17_17Nov2017_V32_94X_DATA.db) file contains
all four sets of JEC.
2) Jet Energy Resolution SFs measurement with 2017 data is finalised.
The nominal values, as well as the full uncertainty estimate, are
available now in JER version Fall17_V3 [3].
More details about JEC and JER updates can be found in the dedicated
report at JME meeting [4] and comparison with old JEC version are
presented in [5].
We would like to thank all people who worked really hard on the MCTruth
update, residuals measurement, uncertainty estimate, and resolution
scale factors extraction during the last months to make this release
happen.
Best regards,
Anastasia for the Jet Energy Correction and Resolutions group
