Hm I'm confused on this one @vivhou . The graph you screenshotted is fig 02_006*
(in cost_of_educating
-> endowments
), and neither this graph nor graphs in Finacial Aid -> Federal have em dashes. Do you mean en dashes? In the federal financial aid section, en dashes seem to be displaying fine.
Not sure if these ≤ in the screenshot above should be en dashes?
Graph created here: https://github.com/UrbanInstitute/ed-data/blob/master/scripts/get-data/endowments.R#L130
With category labels here: https://github.com/UrbanInstitute/ed-data/blob/master/scripts/get-data/endowments.R#L108-L111
But I can't run the scripts, because they depend on a scraper here: https://github.com/UrbanInstitute/ed-data/blob/master/scripts/get-data/endowments.R#L108-L111
Which I don't have access to. Do you?
Hmm I'm actually confused as to why I screenshotted this graph, it might have been an error. This also might have been an old bug that I was able to fix, sorry if this confused you!
i don't know what scraper Hannah used as I never created this graph, hopefully if I do need to recreate this graph, Victoria can send me the data directly.
@vivhou unless you object, I'd propose closing this issue, since we can't figure out what the problem is
Using an em dash causes R to convert this into something else (example is from Financial Aid- Federal):
