This is as intended, for better or for worse the d3 format string for the labels, '$,.2s'
(see https://github.com/UI-Research/college-affordability.urban.org/blob/develop/helpers/formatting.jsx#L18) , rounds this way. I'd rather not change at this point (unless it's being flagged by researchers?) since my guess is changing the format string would break charts elsewhere. If you agree, please go ahead and close issue @vivhou .
Yes that's true, I also don't see a lot of values 100k and above which is why I just noticed this one.
This is the only bar chart I see so far where the numbers don't match the data, the higher values round to the nearest ten thousand for some reason:
