Instead of the above for Notes and Limitations, use this for the Notes:
"Affordability addresses whether sufficient housing units would exist if allocated solely on the basis of cost, regardless of whether they are currently occupied by a household that could afford the unit. Values below 100 suggest that on this basis the affordable stock is insufficient to meet the need. The affordable housing stock includes both vacant and occupied units."
Use this for the Limitations on the Description page:
"This metric does not account for availability of the affordable units. Higher income households may occupy units that are otherwise deemed affordable to lower-income households, rendering these units unavailable. This metric also does not account for the quality of the affordable units, which may be of substandard quality or too small to meet the size of the occupying household."
on 6/15 I found another error that needs correcting with respect to the affordable housing metric for counties:
This is a little messier than I initially thought. Consider the preschool table in the county and place pages for Washington, DC.
The "Summary" tab for county uses 1-year ACS data
The "Summary" tab for place uses 1-year ACS data
The "More Data" tab for county uses 5-year ACS data
The "More Data" tab for place uses 1-year ACS data AND 5-year ACS data. This is because the "All" row was initially missing for these tabulations and we replaced it with the "Summary" data instead of calculating it with the 5-year data.
[x] We need to fix the county and place "Summary" table source to use 1-year ACS.
[x] We need to fix the place "More Data" table source to 1-year + 5-year ACS.
