Cannot save files

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open mypersonalindex app
2. click save and save as file name "holdings"
3. error message returned "could not save to 
/Volumes/mypersonalindex/holdings.mpi!"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected a file I can save so I can adjust my holdings. Last time I used the 
app I entered my holdings and it crashed. I lost all my data. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
3.1 on mac OS X version 10.6.6

Hi,

Does this problem occur with these steps?

1. Open mypersonalindex app
2. Immediately click File -> Save without creating a portfolio
3. Save to your home directory.

Are you positive you have write permission to the folder you are trying to save 
the file?

I am having the same problem. Same version and running on OSX 10.6.7. I also 
tried your suggestion of immediately trying to save to avail. I have tried 
savings to my Applications folder (Default), Documents, Desktop, etc. Same 
error.

I haven't had access to a Mac machine for the past couple weeks.  Within the 
next week or two I should be able to solve this problem (hopefully).
