I know you can change the color of unread feeds with new articles but AFAIK
there is no option to have a different color for the currently selected
unread feed.

in the docu, only listnormal, listfocus, info, background and article is 
documented.

can you please tell me the color option for feeds with unread articles?

ok, found it - the feature is called "Highlighting Articles in the Article List"
