That seems reasonable to me. Otherwise, it's a lot of effort on the part of the instructors and helpers for not many participants. We can always make exceptions if we feel they are warranted, but I think this is a good guideline.
Sometimes people who register cannot make it to the workshop so I might suggest pushing it up a few more people, maybe 18-20.
Out of curiosity, how many are registered for the genetics one?

Meghan and I have been talking with a student in Human Genetics that is eager to have a SWC workshop for his "lab". My sense is that it's a couple of labs in HG, but he things he has 7 people lined up and might be able to get a few more. I'm wondering what we want to set as the minimum number of people in a workshop. I worry about us getting spread thing teaching workshops to <10 people. Considering the effort that goes into organizing and running a workshop, I want to make sure that it is worth everyone's effort.
I'd propose that we require at least 15 people to hold a workshop, thoughts?
