I just searched for a paper and pencil icon on Google images and used Paint to alter the color. It looks like it came from some online clipart gallery that allows images to be downloaded, but I'm not entirely sure about the copyright
Here's the link to the location where the image was found http://imgarcade.com/1/pencil-and-paper-icon/
Hmm, this issue is still open as I found the following statement on the "About" page. This means technically that we should not be using this icon. We could be inspired by it and recreate it but it's not ours. I will keep this open and discuss it later. Maybe I'll have a logo contest for class or ask our participants to redesign one.
"Please do not email asking if you can use the image for projects etc we do not own the copyright to any of the images on this website they are provided as-is and are believed to be in the "public domain" you use them at your own risk.. , we also can not help with finding the original author of the images.
Alternatively if you own the copyright to the image we can provide you with a link to your website in our recommended links section.
NOTHING ON THIS WEBSITE IS FOR SALE DO NOT EMAIL ASKING TO BUY ANYTHING. "

Good free icons with no copyright in the public domain:
Just a few thoughts. We can change colors. Though will need to use Illustrator to do that.

The icons for job prep, feedback, and networking that show up on the home page are original as far as I know. It's actually this pencil and paper icon that shows up next to the title of the webpage in your browser that we're concerned about. I changed the color to blue, using Paint but I'm not sure if there's still a conflict
Suleman,
I didn't see where changing the color mattered. Do you know if it belongs to us with just a color change? Thanks!

I got the impression you were concerned about legality of the current icons but Asha clarified that it was just one of the icons?
What I meant by color was that if it is copyrighted we cannot change the color to circumvent it. That is what it sounded like. But yesterday was a long day.
Right, I didn't think you could change the color to circumvent it. Asha's talking about the icon that shows up in the tab window. This serves as the main application logo at this point.

Ah gotcha. Thanks for clarifying. Let me know if you wanted any artwork done by me.
Clearing milestone -- lower priority
Asha, you mentioned that you added a logo. Where did you get the logo from? Do we have rights to the logo?
