Determine what should be the tech content/demo of upcoming lab and create homework #11

I'm only assigning to @efcplaza to force him to review angular-momentum...

Francis, please come up with a suggestion of what we need to cover in next lab session this coming Saturday and then assign to some TAs what they should prepare for (you can see what they would like to teach in https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArnGd7iRYkBGdE5wUE5kMm9OdjlpamxIWUxmYkxwakE#gid=0

Last week, Cassie/Alvin introduced everyone to Git, Jade, Less, and Bootstrap.

Is it too early to introduce Angular momentum? Should we just introduce students to coffeescript?

Also, you should create a quick individual homework related to AngularMomentum.

Everyone else, please contribute your thoughts.

Any available documentation and specs for angular-momentum? I think I would need them to review this and to get up to speed. The README does not contain much information.

dannycastonguay commented 11 years ago

Well, I don't think you are alone in this. @jabbawookiees or @kcvajgf do you have readme?

Hey guys,

Payton proposed that we switch over to flask for the students. I'm ok with it as long as we have something that is ready to roll on Saturday for the students.

Essentially, here's how I'd like saturday to go:

1) everyone creates a github account 2) everyone clones angular momentum 3) everyone creates a heroku account (with toolkit/toolbelt whatever is required) 4) everyone deploys angular momentum

Angular momentum comes with Jade, Less, bootstrap, and angular.js and is all setup to work well on heroku. In addition, we'll build for the students (or have the students build if we don't have time before saturday) user login, password recovery, and some kind of a hello world.

Francis, Payton (and others): are you going to be on top of this?

FrancisPlaza commented 11 years ago

I haven't received any documentation re angular momentum yet. I am OK with all these as long as I get up to speed with everything that is technical, especially missing the Saturday session last week. Would it be OK to meet some time before Saturday (say Friday?) to talk about the contents? I can come meet all of you somewhere (at Kalibrr?) if need-be.

Payton and you should just meet in QC... Both of you guys are there.

Sounds OK with me. Some time on Friday would be great.

dannycastonguay commented 11 years ago

You probably want to create a sample app in angularjs... If you haven't done before. On Jun 12, 2013 8:56 PM, "Francis Plaza" notifications@github.com wrote:

Francis, will you be coming up with an assignment for this week?

FrancisPlaza commented 11 years ago

I am assuming we'll continue with angular-momentum on Saturday. Although, I am thinking we could do in-class exercises to emphasize (re-emphasize) the techs we talked about last week, i.e. smaller exercises about coffeescript, etc. before we delve completely into angular-momentum. Last week's materials were dense. I could come up with little exercises (excluding angular-momentum)- if this is amenable.

We can then I think make an implementation assignment for angular-momentum. Payton and I talked about an authentication system (from scratch and maybe Oauth too) for assignment- we might use this and I think it'd be a reasonable challenge.
