remove err files and add versions #123

I've found that err files are really convenient for ME, but writing the error to a file in nextflow is difficult for users not used to navigating nextflow work directories. Therefore, this is mainly an update that gets rid of them.

Just waiting for the last test to finish. Then I'll copy over the results files and take this out of 'draft' status.
