I merged in several commits from html-validate when I wanted the app-sidebar-accessibility branch to be reviewed first, as html-validate still shows some errors such as those having to do with not recognizing custom element names that should be recognized as non-issues; these custom elements need to be set in .htmlvalidate.json. For now, these commits are ready for review.

Improving accessibility of app sidebar and headers by including alt text in images. The user avatars will have alt="" specified explicitly rather than simply missing the alt attribute.
