Urban dashboard new requirements

Description

We got updated requirements from meeting with VULCAN and GRA2PES folks:

notes from GRA2PES meeting:

• colorbar not matching imaged data in embedded environment
• pie charts need to change to charts by gas broken into contribution from sectors (there will be 5 sectors and the numbers - will be delivered by Emily).
• the click here for more details on both vulcan and gra2pes does not go anywhere... where should it be going? the overview - page?
• same instruction as for vulcan about breakout and moving colorbar away from pie charts.

notes from vulcan meeting:

• can the stacked plot in the vulcan embedded environment be shown in its own window separate from the text? they want legend for the stacked chart too and that will take more room.
• colormap range higher limit (change rescale values + legend)

general:

• marker color needs to be changed

Email from Emily about VULCAN:

• Separate the stack plot from the city and dataset informational text, if possible. I’m thinking one box on the left with the population/dataset description/etc. – text only – and then one box, maybe lower right, which shows the stack plot of sectoral emissions a bit bigger than it currently looks. The short label and text currently sitting above the plot (“CO2 Emissions by Sector […]”) would stay with the stack plot.
• Change the label of “CO2 Emissions by Sector” to “Urban CO2 Emissions by Sector”
• Add a legend next to the stackplot, in addition to the hover labels.
• Update the raster colorbar legend to reflect the correct colors
• Update the raster colorbar legend to show correct units (tons CO2 per km2 per YEAR, for Vulcan)
• Update the raster colorbar legend to include short title of current layer (i.e. “2021 Total CO2 Emissions”) - also recommend removing “fossil fuel” from the title as we’re including cement, which is not necessarily burning fossil fuels in its CO2 emissions.
• Make sure that the raster colorbar legend lives in a physical location far enough from the stackplot that those two are not accidentally confused! If the stackplot moves to the lower right, I think leaving the raster colorbar legend in lower left should probably work.

Urban Dashboard (as of now):

• colorbar has been fixed to use color stops from our dataset mdx files
• The title of colorbar has been changed as mentioned above to "2021 Total CO2 Emissions"
• Added links for "Click here for more details" in dataset section
• Updated the unit for VULCAN to tonne Co2/km2/year

one more: The Y axis needs a label – units will be metric tons of CO2.

As per the new requirements, we need to make following changes:

• [x] Update city list to include 30 cities
• [x] Update GeoJSON for each of those cities
• [x] Update VULCAN data for each city
• [x] Make the refresh transition smooth
• [x] Fix the overlapping issue between colormap and info sidebar (shall we wait new mockup for this??)
• [x] Add y-axis label for emissions by sector chart
• [x] Align the selected urban city and the dropdown arrow
• [x] Make sure that the raster color bar legend lives in a physical location far enough from the stack plot that those two are not accidentally confused
• [x] Add a legend next to the stack plot, in addition to the hover labels
