No idea how feasible this is, but Ana accurately pointed out that on the metadata editing page, a big red X is a button that deletes a section, while a big red exclamation point at the top indicates a validation error. But in the page list, a green checkbox indicates a page with no validation errors and a red X indicates a validation error. Would it be possible to swap out the graphic indicating an invalid page with an equivalent that has a red exclamation point instead of a red x?

I'm not sure if this is possible. I believe it is outside of the scope of the metadata editor and not covered in the documentation. However, we may have access to those resources to overwrite them. I will look into it.

Aleta said this was a great point, very reasonable request, and asked us to submit a ticket for the fix, but had no idea when it might be implemented. Submitted ticket https://my.esri.com/#/support/cases/01877329

Still an issue in Pro. Sigh. This one's on Esri, closing.
