Torrin: The idea of adding more information is worth considering:
Con: until a user starts populating elements, a full list of invalid elements could be long and ugly. This might be mitigated by following the pattern already implemented by clicking the submit button when there are invalid elements - it only shows a message for the first invalid element.
Pro: although clicking on the submit button before it turns green does show a useful message about the first invalid element, many users might never try clicking on the button to see the constructive feedback. There's something to be said for putting this info in plain sight.
