Propose archiving this repository due to lack of activity #422

Since there has been no activity in the repo for over a year, perhaps the repository should be archived. This would communicate to GitHub users that the repository is no longer being maintained.

If down the road we decide to move forward we can unarchive the repository at that time.

It was never clear to me how many issues @michelleannesimon and @barrc identified here? Maybe they will be addressed somehow if you leave this open for at least the rest of 2021.
