View Dataset Type window shows blank message on open #76

Steps to reproduce:

From Manage Dataset Types, select a dataset type Click the View button to open the View Dataset Type window A blank message is shown at the top of the window which grabs focus

Commit 226d484ec3cb16e6f36df5c5fc07ce39248aa657 skips showing an empty message when setMessage() is called. This prevents the message panel from being visible and focusable.
