We've pretty much decided on which habitats, but this is very good to know. Oysters won't be easy, but seagrass/saltmarsh/mangroves/corals/flats are our top priorities for the Azure/NSF/NERRS projects.

Roughly in order of priority (although very muddy in the middle)
- oysters (both extent & quality/health)
- seagrass / SAV
- saltmarsh / tidal flats,
- mangrove,
- corals,
- tidal flats,
- hardbottom (extent, relief, rugosity, quality, z-field),
- frontal zones,
- beach dunes
- elevation / z-field,
- artificial habitats (non-restorable areas)
- sand resources (benthic infauna)
- barrier island morphology
- sargassum
note on SAV vs seagrass:
- SAV is a broader group including seagrass
- SAV is difficult to see
@mjm8 https://github.com/mjm8 : I remember FMK mentioning seagrass, but I didn't follow up on that discussion. If we are past the stage of deciding which habitats to map let's close this now before I steer us off on an unproductive tangent.

Nice! It sounds like oysters might be of more interest for TX and the other gulf states than FL anyway, but don't take my word for it.
I am not certain how firmly set the habitat classes we plan to map are at this point, but as I am currently sitting in a GoMA discussion on "priority habitats to map", I wanted to document the priorities of this community.
