Just a FYI- I was looking at https://cmgdata.usgsportals.net/#metadata/57091/station with Chrome v63x, and the curtain plots didn't display. they displayed in IE, so I upgraded chrome and they do display correctly in v65.

The big problem is that most government users are restricted to the chrome version that is pushed to them, so many will have incomplete functioning if the portal remains finicky about how up-to-date the browser is.

This may have less to do with browser version and more to do with connectivity and upload success at the time the page is requested. see #282
