@aaronstephenson - this might be due to us transitioning whispers@usgs.gov from a distribution list to a shared inbox with the USGS service desk. I just got an email from them that makes me suspicious that that was the issue. So hold on any bug fixing until that dust settles
@aaronstephenson - yup, seems like that is the likely issue. Which is great news in that we don't have to so anything with celery. I'm closing this ticket. Sorry for the false alarm!!! I thought I'd get a heads up from the USGS service desk before they deleted the distribution list but apparently not.
This one is likely for @aaronstephenson. The mail service might need to be rebooted?
I onboarded user Jim LaCour yesterday afternoon (Monday 3/8) and never received the "User Account Assigned" email that I normally get copied on.
I also did not get an email announcing the automatic public account creation by user ID 361 who signed up on 3/8 (though I did receive emails for the two public accounts that were created on Friday 3/5).
I checked with Neil and he can see the emails for Jim LaCour and user ID 361 in the table in the backend but he did not receive them in his email inbox either.
So I'm wondering 1) how can we get these emails in our inboxes again for future accounts? and 2) do I need to manually send an email to Jim LaCour to let him know of his admin status? (I guess same question goes for any other users that might not have received the emails automatically)
