• [ ] Coming up with language for asking the community about the potential celebration events (Some one else could post on Slack, etc.)
• [ ] Sign up to host a media club topics
• [ ] Sign up to write a blog post for the event

Created a forum to ask for volunteers that was going to be used in the SC '23 conference US-RSE table.

Some notes from 11/8/23 meeting:

• Should we create a list of next year’s events that could be displayed at SC conference, similar to what UIC had when we entered the Student Building
  • Frame it with “are you interested” format; Give people a way to express interest in contributing to the celebration; Use our WG email list, maybe create a google form for responses (with QR code), provide your email sheet,
• We should organize some outreach for Black History month
• Each community call we should set aside a short time for recognition of the month’s celebration; 1 or 2 slides?
  • History of the month
• Maybe a yearly community call about all the celebration events
• We could encourage folks to do spotlights or presentations centering those communities
  • Similar to what we did with the Pride Month celebration
  • Create an infrastructure/platform for this so that our community can easily contribute
  • We should reach out to our community months in advance to help gather participation and interest
• Create a landing page for this initiative - #32
  • Need to determine a more formal name for this

• From out LinkedIn post about celebrating Black History Month, I reduced this to
