Project Description

The Next-Gen Traffic Management System (NGTMS) is designed to enhance urban mobility by leveraging advanced machine learning techniques and real-time data integration. This project incorporates several models to address various aspects of traffic management. A dynamic traffic light control system utilizes LSTM algorithms to adjust signal timings based on real-time traffic data, minimizing delays. A convolutional neural network (CNN) classifies vehicles from captured images, providing insights into traffic composition. Additionally, a random forest classifier detects emergency vehicles, optimizing traffic signals to prioritize their movement. The system also includes a weather impact prediction model that assesses how adverse conditions affect traffic patterns and a traffic accident prediction model that identifies high-risk areas based on historical data. With an interactive dashboard, NGTMS delivers real-time insights into traffic conditions, vehicle classifications, emergency vehicle locations, and weather impacts, empowering city planners to make informed decisions quickly and enhance overall safety and efficiency in urban transportation.
