Doh!

@tbohn Thanks. Yes, I am interested, and I much appreciate that you keep me posted about it. Also, I would be glad if there is any way I can contribute to that, even though I recognize there is a lot about VIC and WRF I need to learn before I could be of any help.

tbohn commented 7 years ago

Sure - let's stay in touch about this. Where are you working now? I'm encountering difficulties getting that info from my Gmail client....

iled commented 7 years ago

Great, thanks. You can't find that info because I didn't update my profile here yet. I just moved to the University of Pittsburgh.

It was mentioned that there is work by others towards a VIC-WRF connection through ESMF.

I see that some work has been done to integrate ESMF and WRF-Hydro (here and more specifically here). Is it here where VIC and WRF meet?

Is it possible to share a reference for the other mentioned work on VIC-WRF connection through ESMF? Thank you.

@iled : Are you working with Xu Liang? Just curious.

iled commented 7 years ago

Hi @bartnijssen, Yes, I am.

Hi all (@iled, @jhamman, and @bartnijssen in particular): to update you on this, we've got a grad student starting next month who will work on this. His funding requires him to do VIC-WRF sims over the Colorado basin. Apparently he's pretty good with programming, so perhaps he can get it done before too long (although, with classes, etc, we all know how that can go). Myself, I've got several other things that I need to do first, so I can't work on it right now. If by January the grad student hasn't gotten very far, I might work on it then.
