Missing interpolation scheme computing hourly forcing data VIC5/image #806

I want to use VIC5.0.1 with the lake option using the image driver. I will need to provide hourly forcing data to VIC5 image driver, but I did not see a scheme that computes every day hourly data from daily means, as in VIC4. Is someone working on adapting these VIC4 routines for the VIC5 image driver?

That function has been moved to an external stand-alone tool called MetSim (https://github.com/UW-Hydro/MetSim).
